Russian and Ukrainian children, who shy away from practicing overtly Jewish traditions, flock to their local synagogues for the Mesibot Shabbat (Shabbat party) programs. Organized by Tzivos Hashem youth directors in cities across the CIS, these parties feature games, snacks, and other enjoyable means of conveying the warmth and pleasure of Shabbat and its observance.
