Until the Tzivos Hashem Eye Care Center opened in the Marcia Wilf and Ira Yavarkovsky Children’s Medical Clinic, the entire Zhitomir area did not have equipment to check eyesight. Proper eyeglass prescriptions were unobtainable. Unbelievable, but true. The Eye Care Center, which opened in 2001, has helped thousands of adults and children see clearly for the very first time. Remarkable changes have resulted: Children who were struggling in school now keep pace thanks to the resolution of their sight-related issues. Out of work parents have found employment now that their sight has improved. The Eye Care Center is part of the Tzivos Hashem philosophy in action: a simple solution for a pervasive problem.
