Craft Workshops
Holiday knowledge in children’s hands
Stimulating, fascinating, fun, and best of all, hands-on, Tzivos Hashem Jewish Craft Workshops delight children across the CIS while teaching them about the special artifacts used to celebrate the Jewish holidays. Specially trained Tzivos Hashem craft instructors make a point of taking their workshops to distant towns to bring Jewish holiday excitement to children on the fringes of Jewish life.
Every Tzivos Hashem workshop participant goes home with a kosher Jewish artifact of his or her very own. Before Rosh Hashanah raw rams’ horns become polished shofars. On Chanukah, ancient pressing techniques come to life and – with the help of a modern centrifuge – kids turn olives into olive oil. Handmade matzahs are baked before Passover, raw hide is made into Mezuzah-parchment and much, much more. At every workshop, the ideas behind the holidays, their history, and traditions become something the children can touch and treasure.
